A 1-inch difference between the front and the rear is sufficient for proper draining. This allows the water to roll out the back of the unit. If the front is lower than the back, then water can drip into your home.

Prevent a warm airflow from settling around the air conditioner. If your air conditioner is in a position where there is a flow of warm air, condensation occurs. The condensation can cause a buildup of water that may drip inside of your house.

Unblock air conditioner's drain hole

Unblock the air conditioner's drain hole.

The back of an air conditioner has a hole or groove that allows water to escape and drain off.

If it clogs, the water cannot flow and may back up and drip inside your home.

Check for icing.

If your cooling coil is icing up, the melting ice may drain into your house.
