Troubleshoot a Ducane Air Conditioner - Verify that the Ducane air conditioner is connected to a power supply if the unit is not operating. Reset the circuit breaker or fuse if necessary and ensure that the electrical cord is plugged firmly into the unit.Clean the condenser coil with water from a garden hose and wipe down the fan motor blades with a clean cloth if the air conditioner is flashing a yellow alert light or is not operating or cooling as expected. Remember to turn off and unplug the air conditioner prior to maintenance.
Adjust the thermostat to a warmer setting if the air conditioner is producing air that is too cold. Adjust the thermostat to a colder setting if the air conditioner is not producing enough cold air. Allow a few hours for the colder or warmer setting to take effect.
Clean away leaves, dirt, branches or other debris away from the main unit if the air conditioner is not functioning well or the motor is running excessively. Clean the grilles and vents to allow for proper air flow.
